This is the covid 19 sign telling cyclists they should dismount. On an A road (A183 in Whitburn). Council logo on so my council tax is being wasted on this. I feel an email to a councillor coming on t.co/xgMC3dh2Dm

When cycling from the riverside towards Hebburn, you can easily cut through this estate, but on the way back it’s very easy to take a wrong turn as all the houses look the same. Signposting would help.

Cycleway:
Problem

While the paths have been designated for both cyclists and pedestrians. The paths are in a poor state, raised paving slabs, large gaps between the paving stones that narrow bike wheels become trapped in. Either, upgrading the path or adding cycle lanes onto the John Reid road would be a huge improvement.

Cycleway:
Problem
145307

The road between Leam Lane and the John Reid Road is dangerous for both cyclists and pedestrians. As far as I'm aware, the path is not a designated cycle route, the path is in a terrible condition, the kerbs have not been dropped and there is insufficient space for both cycalists and pedestrians. I'm nervous to cycle on this stretch of road due to motorists breaking the speed limit and there is no dedicated cycle lane on the road.

Cycleway:

Generally improve the condition, very dusty when dry, little bit rain and its very muddy with large puddles that cover the whole path

This is such an obvious one. There's an existing narrow pavement here that goes all the way to Testos. With a small amount of investment this could be widened to be a perfect, well used either shared or cycle route to South Tyneside and the Tyne Pedestrian Tunnel from Gateshead. Other options involve massive detours through Boldon, Fellgate or Washington

Cycleway:
Problem
142060

This whole junction is terrible for cycling - there is a path but it is in awful condition and junction crossings need better surfacing and layout to proper standards. Section of path from A184 to Mill Lane is in really poor condition and is too narrow. Could be a superb route to the Tyne Tunnel from Gateshead but the surface makes it less dangerous to ride on the dual carriageway

This pavement links Testo's Roundabout in West Boldon to Whitemare Pool on the edge of Gateshead. The pavement could easily be turned into an excellent cycle super highway if it was repaid. The surface is a shocker at the moment. This would create a fantastic cycle route into Gateshead and Newcastle from South Tyneside.

Bottom end of Dean Road should have cycleway or 'shared-use road. Relatively low car use and plenty of width

Cycleway:
Problem
118116

There is a joint cycle and walking path however it’s so dangerous as the cycle side is right next to where cars open there doors and let there children and dogs out of the cars, pedestrians don’t take any notice of where there walking and Some cyclists think they own the path too, what the council need to do is create a whole new cycle path 8-10 foot away and nearer the coast from the existing path this would give the existing path solely to pedestrians and the new path being over a small green and solely for bikes would make people so much more aware and agreeable to cyclists as at the moment there is a lot of tension
